Today’s world, in which information is produced remarkably rapidly and intensively, needs individuals who are open to learning, who are lifelong learners, and who have the skills to acquire and use information effectively with a focus on development or growth.

According to OECD (2021), research and development comprise creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge and the use of this knowledge to devise new applications. Established for this purpose in the 2021/22 academic year, the R&D Department

Conceptualizes projects for the implementation of the strategic plan of Darüşşafaka Schools and monitors the measuring of the efficiency of the implemented phases.
Follows innovative national and international approaches and programs in education and ensures the transfer of such novelties to learning with the help of relevant stakeholders and the creation of experimental environments.
Takes part in the development of educational programs that the Darüşşafaka Schools need.
Keeps track of national and international competitions, organizations, and projects in which members of the Darüşşafaka family can participate.
Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to conduct research that will facilitate the use of technology in learning and ensures the maintenance of practical learning venues (Techno-Entrepreneurship Youth Center, Planetarium, Observatory, etc.) and the creation of standards for these.

Ensures, together with relevant stakeholders, that the training courses within the scope of the Professional Development Program (PDP) and Skill Development Program (SDP) are determined, planned, and administered in line with the institutional goals and individual needs; takes part in transferring the outcomes obtained from training courses to the school environment.
Monitors the application of procedures of the Schools and serves in writing new procedures when needed; runs necessary checks about the compliance of procedure revisions with the strategic plan.
Obtains feedback about academic activities and administrative issues from parents, students, and teachers.
Ensures the evaluation, reporting, and revision of all practices under its responsibility.
