As the Natural Sciences Group, our goal, in line with Atatürk’s principles and reforms, is to raise modern and curious individuals that are masters of science process skills, follow the developments in science and technology, have an innovative perspective, are equipped with 21st-century competencies, care about the environment and environmental problems, and have the ability to solve problems with scientific methods. In this context, it is important to us that our students are individuals that make sense of what they learn by doing-living and linking those with real-life examples, can think scientifically, analytically, and quickly, have high visibility on national and international platforms, and respect ethical and social rules and values.
The Natural Sciences Group teachers provide physics, chemistry, biology, traffic culture and health courses; English is the language of instruction in physics, chemistry and biology courses.
Course contents and materials are prepared by considering individual differences and learning styles and in a way that is compatible with innovative technologies.
Work targeting the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) are carried out in a planned manner, starting from the 9th grade through the 12th grade. To prepare the students for the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) and Field Qualification Test (AYT), study aids and materials published by OGM (General Directorate of Secondary Education) are used, and MEB learning outcomes tests, screening tests, subject-matter practice exams, and TYT, AYT practice exams are conducted. 11th graders also receive preparatory support for TYT and AYT from the YKS unit.
Learning by doing and living is important at our school, and laboratory practices are therefore included extensively in the curriculum. Our school has physics, chemistry, molecular biology and genetics, and 3D laboratories, as well as a Techno-Entrepreneurship Youth Center (TGGM), planetarium and observatory. Our laboratories are physically equipped to enable scientific research projects to be carried out in addition to experiments within the scope of the curriculum.
Through the extracurricular activities and skill workshops planned and conducted based on the results of the talent, interest and preference inventory, students have the opportunity to practice the theoretical information they obtain during the lessons; having the chance to graduate with an engineering background, they benefit from this knowledge and experience while planning their careers. The Natural Sciences Group teachers advise FRC and FTC robotics clubs, 3D design club, e-sports club, and artificial intelligence and deep learning classes.
Our students prepare scientific research projects under the supervision of their teachers and participate in scientific research project competitions organized by public and private institutions such as TÜBİTAK.
3D Printing Workshop and Competition is one of the traditional annual activities of our group.
