The Career Office was established to bring Darüşşafaka Schools to a level that will enable them to lead the way in career planning and career development in Turkey.
Advocating the idea that career planning and self-knowledge at the university is too late, the Career Office aims to bring out students’ potential by discovering their interests and skills starting from the secondary school until the end of high school, create learning environments in which students will develop in many different fields, systematize what needs to be done in order to raise students according to the expectations of the business world, and ensure the planning of appropriate and relevant processes.
The objective of the Career Office is to support students to get to know themselves and identify their career goals, learn about sectors and professions in detail, create a career plan while continuing their education, and accordingly focus on their education and improve their knowledge and skills.
Career Office Activities
- Career planning and university prep works are carried out.
- Annual study plans for high school and secondary school are prepared.
- Counseling is provided to all high school grade levels (9, 10, 11, and 12 grades).
- The planning and organization of “from skill to career” activities are coordinated. All activities required to discover skills at the secondary school level are conducted.
- All procedures related to the university entrance exam are followed.
- According to the results of practice exams, meetings with students are held, guidance is provided to students, and suggestions are shared with the administration.
- Necessary information about the university entrance exam system, special scholarships offered to Darüşşafaka by universities, university choosing period, and profession/university choosing processes are shared with students, parents, and teachers in writing, online, and/or through a presentation.
- Activities to introduce professions to secondary and high school students (Career Day, etc.) are organized together with the psychological counseling and guidance department.
- Mentor-mentee activities are arranged and reported.
