Reconnecting with Students of the “Distance Education Program for the Earthquake Region”

Recently, we hosted our second in-person meeting with 6th and 7th-grade students under the “Distance Education Program for the Earthquake Region”, which was launched in the wake of the devastating earthquakes on February 6, 2023, and has been successfully operating for three years to provide high-quality education to students in all 11 affected provinces.

Following last year’s visits to our students in Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, and Adıyaman, this year’s gatherings took place on May 15–16-17 in Osmaniye, Adana, and Hatay.

These visits, attended by our R&D project coordinators Sibel Sunay and Gamze Havva Kumaş, as well as our dedicated teachers Ayça Mengüç and Feyza Çapa, who offer online English lessons to remote students, proved to be an unforgettable experience for both students and educators. These meetings turned a long-standing online education process into meaningful, heartfelt connections.

During the visits, our educators dedicated quality time to the students and their families, engaging in friendly conversations and giving books to the children.

This meaningful reunion provided direct evidence of the distance learning program’s positive effects on our students’ academic and emotional growth, confirming that our program is fulfilling its mission.
