Darüşşafaka 6th-grade student Meryem Gökçe T. claimed the silver medal, securing 2nd place in Türkiye in the Stars Team Karate Kata category at the Turkish Children and Stars Karate Championship, held in Kemer, Antalya, from March 24 to 29.
Distinguishing herself throughout the tournament with her discipline, perseverance, and elite performance, Meryem has taken a significant stride toward joining the national team. With this landmark achievement, she has officially earned the right to represent both our school and our nation at the upcoming Balkan Karate Championship, scheduled for May 27–29.
We extend our warmest congratulations to our national runner-up student and her advisor, Yusuf Çetin, and wish Meryem the absolute best of luck as she competes on the international stage at the Balkan Karate Championship.
