Students from the Theater Skill Workshop of Darüşşafaka High School recently presented Molière’s renowned play “Miser” in honor of the esteemed Handan Uran Ertuğrul, the late benefactor of Darüşşafaka.

This theatrical event serves to commemorate Handan Uran Ertuğrul, a dedicated theater artist who passed away in 2021. She significantly contributed to the education of Darüşşafaka students by establishing a scholarship fund in the names of her late sister, Perran Uran, and her niece, Pınar Uran, through her generous donations.

On May 30, the students of the theater skills workshop presented Molière’s renowned play “Miser” at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage, receiving positive feedback from the audience with their exceptional performance.
The production was directed by Serpil Kılıç, the Drama Teacher at Darüşşafaka Schools. The composition of the play’s song was entrusted to M. Ece Özçelik Ergin, a piano teacher, while the lyrics were also authored by Serpil Kılıç.

The cast of Darüşşafaka, through their portrayal of “Miser”—a work that has remained relevant for nearly three centuries—effectively conveyed its exploration of the human condition. The audience responded with extended applause, acknowledging the remarkable quality of the performance
We are expressing our sincere gratitude to the students for delivering an outstanding performance during the III.
