The DatçaBots, our school team representing the FTC (FIRST® Tech Challenge*), achieved remarkable success in both national and international arenas during the 2025-26 season.
This year, the DaçkaBots participated in tournaments organized by the Fikret Yüksel Foundation, named in honor of its founder and esteemed alumnus, Fikret Yüksel. During these competitions, the team accomplished significant milestones, including receiving the “Sustain Award” in the first tournament, securing the highly esteemed “Inspire Award 1st place” in the second tournament, and earning the “Winner Award” for finishing the robot matches in the first place during the competition hosted by Piri Reis University from November 1 to 8. Notably, on November 8, the team set a world record based on their performance in the final matches. As a result of these accomplishments, the DaçkaBots have qualified to compete in the Türkiye Tournament scheduled for December 13 to 14.
Throughout the tournament, our students delivered presentations during judge sessions, showcasing their initiatives in social responsibility and STEAM education with a well-organized approach, earning them commendations from the judges, who appreciated their embodiment of the Daçka spirit and professionalism in their work.
DaçkaBots, guided by their dedicated young mentors Yağız, Mustafa, Barış, Muhsin, Aynur, and M. Arif, received invaluable support from their primary mentors Tuba Demir, Umutcan Ay, M. Akif Tobcil, and Müge Tuvay throughout the entire process.
The students had the opportunity to enhance their technical abilities while embodying important values such as teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. Their disciplined, creative, and responsible approach not only made their mentors proud but also positioned DaçkaBots as more than just a robotics team at the tournament; they emerged as a vibrant youth community that exemplifies the Daçka spirit and their innovative and socially sensitive merits. This achievement represents a significant advancement for our students, enabling them to pursue their interests in STEM with greater self-confidence and serving as an inspiration to their peers.
