Darüşşafaka Students Shine at the Waterloo Mathematics Contest, Ranking Among the World’s Best

The results of the Canada Waterloo Mathematics Contest, conducted on an international scale with an aim to enhance students’ interest in mathematics while fostering the development of analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, have been officially announced.

This year, the competition saw participation from over 20,000 students across more than 1,600 schools, with representation from various grade levels. Among the participants, 24 students from Darüşşafaka High School distinguished themselves by earning the “Certificate of Privilege”, awarded to those exhibiting exemplary performance. Specifically, six ninth graders, ten tenth graders, and eight eleventh graders from Darüşşafaka met the criteria for this recognition.

Notably, Kağan İ. and Defne A., both tenth-grade students from Darüşşafaka High School, attained remarkable achievements by scoring a perfect 150 points, ranking them among the top performers worldwide at their respective levels.
